Rorbuer

Stay in your own fisherman's cabin!

Vesterålen Rorbuer is idyllically located down to the water, and has a fantastic view over Straumsjøen with the mountains in the background.
The fisherman's cabins are located on the western part of Vesterålen, and you should not go far until there is only sea between you and America.
All fisherman's cabins are original and built in the 1700s - 1800s, but have recently been upgraded to today's standard.

With its own terrace at the front of the fisherman's cabins, you can sit in the sun and enjoy activities from the fishermen on the pier right in front.

You can safely park the car right next to the fisherman's cabins, and leave it for a few days as there are plenty of destinations right outside the door.

To Straume, which is the nearest town, it is 1.4 kilometers, and it takes approx. 20 minutes to walk there.

Damperiet Bryggecafé

Adjacent to the rorbuen is a former cod steam factory, which is now called Damperiet Bryggekafé.
The house has a modern kitchen/bar and fantastic seating both outside and inside. Throughout July, we have our summer menu consisting of short-distance dishes based on fish, meat, small dishes and delicious baked goods. We strive to make good food based on ingredients from Norwegian farms and local producers. Among other things, we get fish delivered from Bø, delicious cheese produced in Bø, and cured meat from local farmers in Bø. This summer you can see and buy artwork by Solsoldat (Rune Francisco Fauske)  at Damperiet, and it is also possible to rent SUP boards and kayaks. We arrange company gatherings, weddings, anniversaries throughout the year. Get in touch for an offer.

Experiences and activities in Vesterålen

Vesterålen is an archipelago just north of Lofoten in northern Norway. Due to its lush landscape, Vesterålen is known as "the green alps" and "hikers' paradise". Based in Vesterålen Rorbuer, nature can offer fantastic experiences and activities nearby.
From the fisherman's cabins you can go on top hikes to, among others, Vikantinden, Burnestinden and Nattmålstinden. If you want a shorter trip with fewer altitude meters, you can follow the Coastal Path straight from the fisherman's cabins. On this trip you can also experience fine white sandy beaches.

If you want, you can kayak, fish under the midnight sun, go on an eagle safari or what about a whale safari!

Many of the experiences can be done on your own, or you can use local providers of activities.
